Opportunity Charter School Letter of Interest for Bussing

Dear Parent and/or Guardian,

Opportunity Charter School is considering launching a School Bus Pilot Program to provide students with safety and comfort when traveling to our school. If launched, this service would only be available for Middle School students, who are not eligible for transportation through the Department of Education, on a first-come, first-serve basis once the application process begins.

To launch this pilot program, the school must know how many students are interested in participating. Please respond to this form notifying us of your interest and be aware of the following expectations:

  • The student must be a Middle School student at Opportunity Charter School. High School siblings will not be allowed to participate in this pilot program.

  • Participation of high school siblings may be considered in the future.

  • The student must reside in Bronx County.

  • Students will be accepted into the program on a first-come, first-served basis once the application process opens.

  • The student must be found ineligible to receive bus transportation provided by the Department of Education.

  • Pick-up location will be near your home address, not in front of your home.

  • Students will be picked up at Opportunity Charter School at the end of the school day (M-Th 3:00 pm, F 12:00 pm); therefore, if a student participates in after school programs or sports activities, a parent or guardian must provide transportation to home from school.

  • Students and parents or guardians must adhere to a behavioral contract that will be provided before the School Bus Pilot Program begins.

  • Opportunity Charter School reserves the right to dismiss a student from the program due to failure to comply with behavioral and safety expectations.

Please call Ms. Rosa or Ms. Vazquez at 212-866-6137 for further information.

Sincerely,

Ms. Judymarie Rosa, LMSW

Ms. Krystal Vazquez

Your progress. Our passion.
